DESENSITIZING TOOTHPASTE
Desensitizing tooth paste is a specialized type of tooth paste designed to reduce teeth sensitivity. It works by blocking the exposed dentinal tubules, which are responsible for transmitting sensation to the nerves inside the teeth. This can thus reduce the pain or discomfort associated with tooth sensitivity.
Toothpaste typically contains active ingredients such as potassium nitrate or stannous fluoride. These active component reduce tooth sensitivity by either desensitizing the nerves or forming a protective barrier over the dentin acting as shield from external stimuli.
Tooth sensitivity causes ?
• Tooth erosions
• Gum recessions
• Tooth decay
• Teeth grinding (bruxism)
• Cracked teeth
